Services

In the relaxed and peaceful environment of our healing arts center we provide hands-on therapies and movement practices to assist your healing and relaxation process. Therapies including chiropractic, acupuncture, cranial facial release and various massage styles, are all tailored and administered to your specific needs, whether recovering from injury, dealing with pain or de-stressing after a challenging day. In the absence of trauma, pain occurs when the body is unable to adapt to the challenges imposed on it, be it physical or emotional. Though hands-on treatment may be very effective in controlling and reducing pain, ideally, treatment should be given prior to the occurrence of pain eliminating undue suffering. Wellness visits allow for more freedom of activity with less emotional and physical pain and stress, and also help to strengthen the immune system.

Our therapeutic philosophy blends classical and modern disciplines of Eastern and Western origins tailored to the underlying issues of each individual. Your needs are optimally addressed through the experience of each practitioner in concert with the resources of the group. Whether you are dealing with a new injury, chronic pain or you require a new way to manage the many demands of life, our objective is to build long-term relationships based on your wellness goals.

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is best known for its effectiveness in treating back and neck pain, but it can also have positive and balancing effects on a much wider variety of problems.  The nervous system is the main pathway to the whole body’s ability to function, and chiropractic works with all of the nerves as well as the muscles and bones in the body to provide comfort and restore balance to the neuro-musculo-skeletal system.  Chiropractic can have positive effects on organ systems and hormone balance, can relieve discomfort associated with strains, sprains, headaches, carpal and tarsal tunnel syndromes, sciatica, and general body aches, pains and stiffness. Cranial Facial Release (CFR)

Cranial Facial Release (CFR)

Cranial Facial Release (CFR) is an advanced endo-nasal “balloon assisted” cranial adjusting technique that has been used quite successfully in the treatment of various neurological and structural disorders. To understand how CFR works it is important to realize that the skull is not one solid bone. It is made up of 22 individual bones that actually move every time you breathe - or at least they're supposed to. CFR's objective is to mobilize the bones in the face and cranium and to open up the breathing passageways with the purpose of mobilizing the cranial bones and facilitating normal cranial function. It is performed by inserting tiny balloons in the nose then quickly inflating them to mobilize the bones of the face and cranium. It feels very similar to having water shoot up your nose and the procedure takes about to 2 to 3 seconds. The treatment consists of 4-5 treatments ideally done over a 7-10 day period. Conditions that respond favorably to CFR include:

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been used since the third century to promote health and alleviate pain. It continues to thrive as a healing art because it addresses a wide range of ailments and disorders, and in recent years scientific studies have shown the same results people have observed for centuries. Acupuncture beneficially stimulates a number of influential bodily functions -- primarily the nervous system, the immune system, and the endocrine system. Using ultra-thin needles, painlessly inserted into specific acupuncture points, we are balancing the ancient meridian system and promoting overall health. During your initial treatment we will review your whole health history, and devise a treatment plan that includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary recommendations, and movement. (Back to Top)

Microneedling
Microneedling

Microneedling

Microneedling is a procedure that uses many small needles that repeatedly prick the skin in order to generate new collagen for smoother, firmer, more toned skin tissue. Plump and tighten naturally! These treatments will decrease wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, acne scars, sagging skin, and stretch marks. Primarily used on the face and neck, but may be used to treat various scars, wrinkles, and large pores almost anywhere on the body.
For best results we highly recommend a series of 6 sessions. Most patients begin to see results within 10 days after the first session. Long term, results can last 3-5 years, though we recommend twice annual maintenance sessions.

Why choose this over any other facial tightening, toning, or lifting procedure?

  • Minimal risk, minimal side effects, non-toxic. Microneedling is the safest option compared to standard facial rejuvenation techniques.

  • Full Body treatments. Every treatment includes points to address your overall health, and any underlying causes that may be affecting your face.

  • Decreased long-term expenses. After your initial series of treatments, minimal maintenance is required.

  • Natural looking beauty. Some cosmetic procedures can leave people looking overdone and unnatural; too plump, too tight, and expressionless. Microneedling gives you a very natural final result.

Why would you want to see an acupuncturist for this over anyone else?

  • Holistic care. We are not just treating your face, but your entire self, inside and out.

  • We are experts. Licensed Acupuncturists spend over 3000 hours learning these techniques, and we are highly trained to be able to provide you the best care and consideration, as well as certified in Clean Needle Technique.

  • Herbal support. Your facial treatments will be enhanced and maintained with the use of high
quality, herbal ingredients in all our serums.  (Back to Top)

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Also known as Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, Cosmetic Acupuncture has been used historically in China as an essential beauty practice. It is a gentle, effective way to combat the signs of aging and erase years from your face without the risk or expense of surgery and injections. Ultra-thin needles are inserted in the body and face, stimulating your innate healing processes, and increasing circulation and collagen production. Gentle facial cupping and gua sha are also used to increase lymphatic flow, reduce inflammation and redness, and sculpt the face. This treatment can significantly reduce visible wrinkles, and helps prevent new wrinkles from forming, as well as plump lips, diminish scars, and help with facial muscle problems, particularly in patients who suffer from Bell’s Palsy, or post-stroke paralysis. (Back to Top)

Cupping

Cupping

Cupping Therapy is a technique that has been practiced in traditional medicine all over the world. Your practitioner uses cups to create a vacuum on the patient's skin with a strong suction. This action increases circulation and lymphatic flow, which is used to relieve pain, swelling, and inflammation. Cupping is frequently used on the back and shoulders for pain and musculoskeletal conditions, and can be used to treat respiratory diseases such as the common cold, pneumonia and bronchitis. Cupping is increasing in popularity in recent years - you’ve probably seen your favorite athlete with cupping marks!   (Back to Top)

Herbal Consultations

Chinese Herbal Medicine has been studied for centuries; the oldest known Chinese herbal text dates to the Ming Dynasty (16th century C.E.). Chinese herbal formulas are a safe and effective way to treat a host of ailments. Our herbs are sourced from professional suppliers who provide pharmaceutical grade formulations, which undergo rigorous third party testing to ensure they are free of heavy metals and toxic ingredients. Herbal medicines are incredibly safe, and typically free from the unpleasant side effects of many pharmaceutical drugs. We understand that for many patients pharmaceutical drugs are part of your health plan, and every herbal preparation is researched to avoid negative drug/herb interactions. During your consultation we will review your health history, treatment goals, and come up with a treatment plan that may also include dietary recommendations, movement, and lifestyle changes.  (Back to Top)

Lymphatic

What is Lymph?
Lymph is a clear, viscous fluid which flows throughout the body tissues transporting nutrients at the cellular level and clearing away metabolic waste products.  The lymphatic system is also the highway used by the immune system to transport white blood cells, T-cells, lymphocytes, etc.. throughout the body to fight infections and heal injuries.
Why Lymphatic Drainage massage is Important:
When the body is traumatized by surgeries accidents, injuries or certain medical condition, the immune system quickly defends the area of trauma by delivering necessary antibodies and nutrients to promote healing.  Extra fluid is required by the body to assure proper cleansing and elimination.  Although it is the body’s way of creating a protective armor, these extra fluids can rob the area of proper oxygen and cellular nutrition.  When the lymph fluids become congested with toxic byproducts and dead cell waste, a sluggish condition is created.  This edema can inhibit circulation of energy, blood and lymph.
Benefits of Lymphatic drainage Massage:
Lymphatic drainage is a very gentle massage which clears the body of waste products and excess fluids. It stimulates and strengthens the immune system.

  • Eliminates swelling/congestion after any surgery, including liposuction, breast or facial surgery.

  • Clears respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia and influenza.

  • Regulates digestive disorders including constipation, spastic colon, bloating, and post-surgical impairment of peristalsis.

  • Cleanses internal organs of drug residue post-surgery.(Back to Top)

Positional Release

Positional Release is an Osteopathic technique discovered by Lawrence Jones, D.O. that retrains dysfunctional muscular responses.  This modality challenges the "no pain, no gain" notion of healing by passively placing the body into specific positions of ease/comfort that relieve tension and pain in a brief amount of time.
Proprioceptor nerve endings are the structures of the body that report body position to the brain.  They also can sense distortion of tissue that is present due to stress, tension, injuries, holding patterns, or other conditions.  What is accomplished in passive positioning for comfort is to reprogram and reset the neuromuscular mechanism to a more neutral state.  The brain gets the right input thus allowing the muscle to relax.  This is done without force or added trauma to the troubled body part.  Even after many years of existence, persistent muscular pain can be relieved almost immediately with Positional Release, and by repeated and adequate treatment, a harmonious function can be maintained until its tendency to recur is inhibited indefinitely. Pregnancy

Massage is a wonderful way to relieve the discomforts of pregnancy, relax and increase energy.  It increases circulation, bringing energy-producing nutrients to cells and carrying away metabolic waste products that can cause listlessness.  It also can reduce excess fluid retention.
Massage can help prepare for the birthing process in several ways.  Regular massage to the lower back, abdomen and inner thighs can release chronic tension in these areas for minimal resistance during labor.
Postpartum massage reduces pain and stress from the delivery experience as well as enhances healing of the perineum or abdominal incision.  It also can ease the physical and emotional demands of caring for a newborn. (Back to Top)
